Ugh, I’ll be outside plenty this week, and I find this to be pretty...well...bad. But at least the A/C in my office is working now and keeping things at a reasonable temp for when I need not roam the depths of hell that is the outside world currently.
I wanted to wash and wax my cars Saturday, but unless I get up at sunrise to do it, it just isn’t going to happen.
And for our non-US Oppos, here’s the same forecast in whatever the hell Celsius is...
For your time,
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
. The engine might be Chevy instead of Dodge, but I can’t help but think that this is how the Prowler should have been sold.

I’ve been grumpy because it’s cool here. I want 90° + weather to drop the windshield and really enjoy the summer, but no, 2020 is sticking it to me yet again. Average high for the next 7 days is just around 80°.

I will totally trade places with you. 80 degrees is perfect roof-off weather for the Corvette.
And to be fair, 90 is a little too warm for my tastes , but it’s still bearable. An average high north of 106, however, can just get the hell out of here.

Pretty mild stretch coming up here after having had highs in the 90s for much of the past week:
Getting to the point where we could use some rain though . Much of the state is in a moderate drought, and I’ve been seeing a lot of water use restriction signs while oppohunting. Saturday looks like the best bet for that, but still only a 50% chance.

It was 70 here yesterday. It’s going to be 100 on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I don’t like this yo-yo shit.

Funny enough, I lived in/around Westford and Concord in my (much) younger days. In fact, I believe I played in a hockey tournament in Waltham back when I was playing on the Nashoba Valley team (either Squirt or Peewee).
But anyway, we are very much in our regular northern California dry season. Haven’t seen rain since around early June , and don’t anticipate seeing any for at least another 6 weeks or so.

If we got one 70 degree day in the middle of this, I would be a very happy person.

That looks a lot like the Austin forecast. I there really much of a difference between 107 and 109?
![]() 08/13/2020 at 21:45 |

Not enough of a difference to change the associated level of misery, that’s for sure.

We’re volunteering at the food bank tomorrow afternoon, and I can’t wait to get back in my van after it sits in an unshaded parking lot for three hours.

there is something about the prowler that makes me think it should have a 4 cylinder with a very loud turbo.

Maybe run a cheap swamp cooler in there? A styrofoam cooler, a bucket of ice, and a battery-operated fan.
You might be able to run a fan off the car’s battery, but I don’t know what kind of load that would pull.

That works too!

Not a bad idea to just park the cooler in the middle of the van.

Only when you’ve had weeks of 110+

Yes please to the weather

Sunday will be the hottest day of the year (yet).

You can’t see it, good doctor, but rest assured that I’m making my jealous face at the moment.

Who’s smug now? :O

I am, but only about very specific and obscure things. Like how good my jealous face is. It’s hella good.
